Choosing Your Server Software

On the Software tab you can choose between two branches:

  • Public (Stable) — the default, recommended branch. It's the same build most players run, so it has the best compatibility with mods and other players' saves.
  • Experimental — Coffee Stain's testing branch with the newest features and fixes ahead of the stable release. It can be less stable and may not be compatible with all mods.

Switching branches requires a server restart to take effect — you'll see a confirmation warning before the change is saved.

Next Steps

Want to add mods? See Installing Mods on Satisfactory for a full walkthrough of the FICSIT.app browser. Before trying a new mod or switching to Experimental, take a backup — see Managing Backups & Restoring Your Server. If you're still comparing plans, check Hourly vs Monthly Billing: Which Games Qualify — Satisfactory is monthly-only.
