Browse and install from Steam Workshop
Squad's Mods tab includes a full in-app Steam Workshop browser — search for a mod, review it, and click install directly from your server panel. No file uploads or manual downloads required.
- Open the Mods tab on your server.
- Search Steam Workshop for the mod you want.
- Click Install. The mod downloads to your server automatically.
- Restart your server for the mod to take effect.
Uninstalling works the same way in reverse — remove it from the Mods tab and restart. What's actually installed is read live from your server's Workshop content folder, not tracked separately, so the files on disk are always the definitive answer.
You don't need to do anything else
Squad's server process automatically links every mod folder downloaded through Steam Workshop into the game's plugin directory every time the server starts. In practice this means the in-app Workshop browser is the entire install process — there's no additional manual step, no file to edit, and no folder to move anything into yourself.
