Getting Started: Creating Your First Server

Choose your game

From your dashboard, click Create Server and pick a game. Each game has a minimum RAM requirement built in — if you pick a RAM amount below the minimum, Spawnly automatically bumps it up to the smallest valid tier for that game.

Some games on the list are marked "Soon" and can't be selected yet — they're planned but not live on the platform.

Pick a billing type

Spawnly offers two billing models: Hourly, where Credits are deducted per minute only while the server is Running, and Monthly, a flat Credit fee charged upfront for a 30-day reservation. Hourly is currently available for Minecraft only — every other game is monthly-only. See Hourly vs Monthly Billing for the full breakdown.

Choose a RAM tier and region

Monthly servers pick from fixed RAM tiers (2 GB up to 32 GB), each with a set monthly Credit price. Hourly servers bill per GB per hour instead. Right now all servers run in our Europe (EU) region — North America and Asia are planned but not yet available, and hourly billing is locked to EU.

Name your server and launch

Server names must be 3-20 characters, letters/numbers/hyphens only, and unique across your account. Once you submit, your server enters a brief Provisioning state while we prepare the machine — this typically takes a few minutes.

Find your way around

Every server has an Overview, Schedules, Console, Software, Mods, Files, and Backups tab, plus an Access tab visible only to the owner. Minecraft servers additionally get Properties, Players, and World tabs that don't exist for other games — on non-Minecraft games, world saves and config files are managed through the Files tab instead.
