Choosing Your Server Software

The Software tab for CS2 only offers the Public branch — there's no beta or alternate branch to switch to. Any update applied here requires a server restart, which the dashboard will confirm before applying.

Default Server Configuration

New CS2 servers ship with a default server.cfg that sets sv_cheats 0, mp_autoteambalance 1, and mp_limitteams 1. You can open and edit this file through the File Manager to adjust match rules, cheats, or team balance settings — CS2 doesn't have a dedicated Properties or World tab, since those are exclusive to Minecraft.

Next steps

For what's actually possible around CS2 mods and Workshop content today, see Installing Mods on Counter-Strike 2. Once your server.cfg and any custom maps are in place, set up Managing Backups & Restoring Your Server to keep them protected.
