Oxygen Not Included
SPOM Calculator
A self-powered oxygen module is the standard mid-game oxygen solution in Oxygen Not Included, and it only works if the ratios are right.
How this is calculated
The design balances electrolyzers against the hydrogen generator that powers them, plus the pumps moving gas around. The calculator gives the component counts that make the loop self-sustaining rather than a net power drain.
The arithmetic
- electrolyzers = water ÷ 1000
- oxygen = water × 0.888 · hydrogen = water × 0.112
- dupes supported = floor(oxygen ÷ consumption per dupe)
- power = (hydrogen ÷ 100) × 800
What people get wrong
Electrolyzers stop when the surrounding pressure gets too high, so a module that is correct on paper can stall because the output gas is not being cleared fast enough. Pump capacity is what keeps the ratio working in practice.
