Creating a manual backup
Open the Backups tab on your server dashboard and click Create Backup at any time. Your backup list refreshes automatically a few seconds after starting, so you can watch the new backup appear once it finishes.
Automatic backups
From the same tab, open Backup Settings to enable automatic backups. You can configure:
Frequency — the minimum number of hours between automatic backups.
Retention — how many automatic backups to keep (1–10). Older backups beyond this limit are cleaned up automatically.
Automatic backups run when your server stops, so it's worth pairing this with sensible auto-stop settings if you want regular, predictable backups.
Restoring a backup
Your server must be stopped before you can restore a backup — the Restore button is disabled while the server is running.
Once stopped:
Open the Backups tab and find the backup you want to restore.
Click Restore and confirm.
Restores are queued rather than applied instantly, so you may see a pending-restore notice on your server dashboard until it's been applied — start your server again once it's done to load the restored world.
Good practice
Always take a manual backup before risky changes — switching server software, changing your Minecraft version, or installing/removing a modpack — even if automatic backups are enabled, since those changes can happen between scheduled backup windows.
